Movement. Empowered.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

From there, I create a tailored, evidence-based treatment plan designed to restore your mobility, improve strength and prevent future injury. This may include hands-on-therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and practical strategies to support your recovery. Whether you’re dealing with everyday aches or a more complex condition, I’m committed to guiding you every step of the way.

Speciality interests:

  • Orthopaedic post-surgical recovery

  • Adolescent injuries

  • Bone health, menopause, health ageing

  • Knee, foot and ankle injuries

  • Running and swimming-related injuries

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy, or Aquatic Physiotherapy, is clinically guided exercise performed in warm water that uses the natural properties of water to reduce joint load, ease pain and improve mobility. It is often used in conjunction with land-based rehabilitation and can be useful in the early stages of injury rehabilitation to provide graded load bearing and strengthening. Hydrotherapy is also beneficial for cardiovascular fitness and long-term chronic condition management.

Beneficial effects include:

  • Increased exercise capacity and fitness

  • Pain management

  • Enhanced core stability and trunk strength

  • Maintenance of joint range

  • Increased muscle strength & function

  • Progressive weight-bearing

  • Gait re-education & early rehabilitation

  • Increased wellbeing and mental resilience

Conditions / injuries it can help:

  • Orthopaedic rehabilitation

  • Chronic conditions

  • Neurological

  • Stroke survivors

  • ADHD

  • Osteoporosis & Joint disease

  • Sporting injuries / stress fractures

  • Upper limb rehabilitation

  • Multi-trauma (ie. MVA, workplace injuries)

My goal is to empower individuals to move with confidence, independence and comfort. An initial clinic consult is required prior to starting Hydrotherapy to collect medical history, baseline function, goals, and to create an individual exercise program. All sessions are 1:1 and conducted in a relaxing warm water pool with ramp / stair access.

Youth Athletic Development

Children and adolescents should not be viewed as small adults regarding musculoskeletal injuries. The increase in high-level youth athletes highlights the need for a proactive strategy for injury prevention and management. Factors such as biological, physical, and psychological age, growth and maturation rates, training and competition schedules, specialization, sporting ambitions, recovery, and external stressors must be taken into account. Effective management typically involves collaboration among family members, technical coaches, strength coaches, schools, and sports clubs.

Youth athletes are a special interest area, and I have extensive experience with this group across various sports and environments. I provide sport-specific screenings and develop strength and conditioning programs with a preventative approach in mind. The well-being and health of youth athletes remain a priority, and promoting foundational movement skills, self-management, and lifelong engagement in sport is essential.

I have established a strong network of Sports Physicians, Nutritionists and Psychologists to facilitate referrals and maintain a comprehensive management strategy, offering expert advice and support from the initial injury through to recovery and performance resumption.

Swim Technique Correction

Just getting back into the pool after a break, or looking to be more efficient in the water? I offer 1:1 private swim technique correction and instruction for people from beginner level to advanced. What started as a part-time job whilst studying at university has turned into a lifelong passion for swim coaching. I combine nearly 20 years of experience with patience, attention to detail and commitment to results.

Whether you are looking to get fit for summer, taking up a new hobby or chasing that triathlon PB, I can help you get the most out of your training.

Running Assessments

New to running or looking for that edge in competition? A running assessment incorporates a comprehensive review of your training and injury history, running goal planning, musculoskeletal screening, treadmill running assessment and analysis of running gait. This guides the creation of an individualised management plan with biomechanical interventions and injury risk reduction strategies. Additional interventions, such as referral to other allied health practitioners/ specialists, strength programming and training load planning may also be discussed.

Sport-specific Screenings

Ready to take your training to the next level, looking for that performance edge, or just wanting to stay injury-free? A sport-specific screening is a comprehensive assessment which combines your training and injury history, competition level and goals with sport-specific measures, such as joint range of motion, muscle strength and power and functional movements. This provides an excellent picture of your current physical status to guide the development of an individual program to improve on any identified imbalances or further enhance physical qualities.

Sport-specific screenings are available across a range of sports including Swimming, Dance (pre-pointe assessments), Football, Rowing and field sports. The objective is to develop highly competent, robust and resilient athletes.
